Linda St. Clair

Bio: I have come to recognize that I am not happy unless I am creating regularly.    My focus has shifted from time to time, but I have been making art of some sort since at least my teens.    During my college years and in my working life my creativity was mainly centered around being a writer.  I wrote poetry and fiction and at work, a darn good business letter or training manuals.  During those same years I was sewing and doing needle crafts.  Once I moved to Union City I began to create a garden, moved into photography and worked with ceramics. In 2000 I went on the board of Masquerade Theatre and eventually became chairman of the board. I stayed on the board until 2013.  During those years, I worked backstage, acted, sang, danced and directed. I felt like theatre was my life.  Then when I went off the board and backed away I had a little bit of an Identity crisis -- who was I without theatre? It took me about six months to realize that I am an artist and always have been.  Only the media changed.  My creative urge didn't. So I decided in 2014 to concentrate on visual arts and I have played around with about every media available including acrylics, watercolor, pastels, colored pencils, print making and collage.  For the past two or three years collage has been my main passion.
